Real Nappies - Real Choice!!

 Unfortunately real nappies are associated with negative images of old-fashioned terry towelling squares and the time and effort they used to involve. In fact, real nappy use is growing every year thanks to easy-to-use modern real nappies.

Pitter Patter Baby aims to raise awareness about the environmental, health and cost benefits by using real cloth nappies to parents throughout East Lancashire. Working in partnership with Blackburn with Darwen Council, Lancashire County Council - Bottom Line Scheme, Hyndburn BC, local healthcare and childcare professionals.

Every year in Lancashire parents throw away approx 17 tonnes of disposable nappies for which there is currently no method of recycling in the UK. That's 8 million disposable nappies thrown away in the UK every day!!

Our aim is to reach new parents in the area with awareness raising and promoting the case for real nappies, this enables parents to make an informed choice. Our awareness raising network involves attending and giving talks at ante and post natal classes, parents groups and family events. This is followed up with individual home visits or group visits to help parents get started with using real cloth nappies.
